Disney's Internet Group to GO bye bye...
On January 29th, Disney announced they will dissolve their Internet Group, or (DIG). The main portal for this is GO.COM, and GO.COM is going bye bye.

Disney laid off 400 employees and plans to dissolve the DIG stock into common stock under Disney. The GO.COM portal will be shut down, and Disney plans on concentrating solely on their more successful internet presences like ABCNEWS.COM and ESPN.COM.

Disney isn't the only company who's hurt in the dot com world. Last year alone over 53,000+ Dot COM Jobs were lost. This year, even with a huge merger like AOL Time Warner, AOLTW laid off many employees at CNN and in AOL to "more suit the new companies structure".

Disney will dissolve it's Internet Group tracking stock and convert it's shares into Disneys' common stock as of March 20th 2001 this year, Disney said. Disney's stock closed up 53 cents on the news and the DIG stock rose slightly from it's lows to $5.81.
